About The Position
Schimenti Construction is hiring a motivated Field Engineer to support a project in Mount Sinai, NY (Long Island) and assist the Superintendent in providing oversight for all processes and activities. Field Engineers are an entry level role within our Field Operations team for candidates seeking to grow their knowledge of construction while working closely with a Superintendent at a specified job site.
Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Must be able to efficiently multi-task
- Excellent communication and time management
- Must be comfortable reading commercial construction plans and specifications
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License
- 10 hour OSHA certificate
Nice To Haves
- trade school, or construction education preferred
- The ability to work with tools to perform various phases of construction work is a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist in managing the day-to-day responsibilities of a commercial construction project
- Ensure all subcontractors are checked in and working effectively/efficiently
- Support various administrative duties and ensure daily photos of project are logged in Procore system
- Daily focus on job site safety
- Maintenance of daily logs and updates of schedules
- Take notes during meetings
- Maintain job site security/perimeter
