About The Position

Williamsburg Charter High School (WCHS) is seeking exceptional, NYS-certified teachers for the School Year 2026-2027. WCHS is dedicated to an educational program that ensures every student graduates well-prepared for college and the world beyond. Teachers at WCHS are central to realizing the school's mission, philosophy, and unique youth-centered approach. The school offers a supportive environment with social workers and academic leaders to assist both staff and students. Teachers also serve as advisors to approximately 15 students to foster academic success.

Requirements

NYS Certification
An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues and co-teachers
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field
2+ years of lead classroom teacher experience (excludes student teaching and serving as a teaching assistant/substitute)
Experience with planning and/or teaching high school curriculum aligned with Common Core standards and driven by data

Responsibilities

Teach 5 courses per day
Attend department and planning meetings
Collaborate with other teachers to provide rigorous, standards-based learning to students
Use student performance data derived from teacher-created and standardized assessments to drive instructional decision-making
