Hours & Location Location: Nassau County, 1101 Hempstead Turnpike Uniondale NY 11553. Shifts available: Wednesday 9AM-12PM or Thursday 9AM-12PM. Volunteer Opportunity We are s eeking committed volunteers available for a weekly 3-hour shift at our outpatient facility in Nassau County . Volunteers at this location will support the chemo infusion area and lobby providing navigation support to patients and visitors . As a volunteer, you may: Offer a warm welcome by greeting patients, families, and visitors when they arrive. Help with wayfinding by walking visitors to their destinations or answering general questions . Support patients and staff in the waiting areas by assisting with wheelchair retrieval, escorting patients to appointments, or simply checking in to see where help is needed. Support front valet staff with regular check-ins, ensure wheelchairs are available, and assist with patient transport as needed. Provide comfort in the chemo infusion area by offering patients and visitors non-clinical support such as blankets, refreshments, or a friendly presence.

Requirements

  • Age 16+
  • Able to commit to a weekly 3-hour shift for at least 6 months
  • If you are a former or current MSK patient, you must be out of active treatment for at least one year
  • Friendly and comfortable engaging with patients, families, and staff
  • Reliable and proactive
  • Must be flexible and willing to support areas based on daily needs, as directed by the Volunteer Supervisor
  • Virtual interview (based on scheduling needs and program fit)
  • 2–3 reference checks
  • Background check & drug screen (18+ only)
  • Medical clearance (flu and other immunizations ; at applicant’s expense)
  • Onboarding must be completed within 30 days.
