About The Position

The NX Developer joins Anduril's Engineering Systems and Tools team, which designs, builds, and maintains internal systems, applications, and infrastructure across the enterprise. The role develops customizations, automation, and administrative tooling for the Siemens NX CAD environment, helping mechanical and electrical engineers work more efficiently. It involves writing code with the NXOpen API, Python, and C++, owning the full lifecycle of internal developer tools, and working directly with their users. This is product development for an internal user base, not IT support.

The developer will build and maintain NX customizations and administrative capabilities, create interfaces and automation for design workflows, collaborate with PLM engineers on NX–Teamcenter integration, and troubleshoot technical issues involving deployment, configuration, toolkit distribution, and end-user support. The position works with solution engineers and cross-functional teams on business-critical projects.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a CAD development role, ideally in a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in NX Open API development using one or more of C/C++, Python, Java, or .NET (C#/VB.NET).
• Hands-on experience administering NX CAD, including templates, drafting standards, part families, reuse libraries, and role-based configurations.
• Experience creating and maintaining NX journaling scripts and custom automation toolkits.
• Strong understanding of CAD data management concepts, including naming conventions, revision control, and BOM structures.
• Ability to empathize with end users, translate their needs into features, and balance user experience with engineering constraints.
• Exceptional strategic problem-solving capabilities and ability to navigate complex technical trade-offs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Siemens Teamcenter integration in NX managed mode, including classification, workflows, and naming rules.
• Familiarity with NX Check-Mate for automated design validation and quality checks.
• Experience with NX deployment and site-level configuration, including ugii_env, custom directories, and toolkit distribution.
• Knowledge of GRIP or KF (Knowledge Fusion) programming within NX.
• Experience integrating CAD tools with downstream systems such as PLM, ERP, or MES.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, resolve user issues, and work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain NX Open API customizations using NX Open C/C++, Python, and .NET to automate design tasks and enforce engineering standards.
• Build and manage NX CAD administrative tools, including templates, part families, reuse libraries, and Check-Mate rules.
• Create custom NX dialogs, menus, and toolbars to streamline mechanical and electrical design workflows.
• Develop journal-based automation scripts and NX Open applications for modeling, drafting, and BOM generation.
• Collaborate with PLM engineers on NX–Teamcenter integration in managed mode, including classification, naming rules, and revision workflows.
• Work with solution engineers and cross-functional teams to complete business-critical projects.
• Troubleshoot NX technical issues related to deployment, site configuration, custom toolkit distribution, and end-user support.
