About The Position

Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a full-time NVH Engineer to support the Large Power Systems Division's Core Components team, which is responsible for the design and validation of engine core internal components, including rotating components, PRL, valvetrain, heads, blocks, and housings. This is an onsite role based in Mossville, IL, responsible for developing, conducting, analyzing, and managing engine structures and dynamics validation tests using industry-standard tools and technologies. The role supports validation of engine components and systems, including packaged gensets, to help ensure product quality through vibration and structural testing. The candidate will evaluate complex structural failure modes and provide technical guidance to support new and current product development and improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2+ years of relevant testing experience.
  • Basic understanding of internal combustion engines and machinery required.
  • Strong project management skills, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical communication skills, with an understanding of customer needs and product application.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively across multiple teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of structural dynamics/vibration, NVH testing, and structural simulation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, conduct, analyze, and manage engine structures & dynamics validation tests for core engine systems and components, including packaged gensets, rotating components, cylinder pack, and head & block.
  • Evaluate complex structural failure modes and provide technical guidance and expertise to drive product development and improvement solutions.
  • Utilize data acquisition systems (eDAQ, LMS, cDAQ) and analyze data using linear vibration, stress/strain, ME-SCOPE, and LMS tools.
  • Perform modal testing and coordinate the design and procurement of prototype hardware.
  • Set up tests, including instrumentation and gaging, as appropriate.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal clients and cross-functional teams, including design and simulation.
  • Lead project planning, generate reports, and communicate test conclusions and results to stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve validation efficiency and champion new process initiatives.
  • Effectively multitask and manage priorities across multiple concurrent engine programs.
