The main purpose of this full-time contractual position is to provide professional public health nutrition services in support of the Kent County Health Department's Chronic Disease, Nutrition and Built Environment Grant. This position will be responsible for planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating evidence-based nutrition initiatives designed to prevent and reduce chronic disease and improve health outcomes through nutrition education, policy, systems and environmental strategies. This position will work collaboratively with local governments, health care providers, schools, community organizations, food access partners and other stakeholders to improve access to nutritious foods, promote healthy eating behaviors, support chronic disease prevention efforts and advance built environment initiatives that encourage healthier lifestyles. This position will serve as a subject matter expert in community nutrition and provide nutrition assessment, education, technical assistance, program evaluation and grant-related reporting to support achievement of grant objectives.
