About The Position
The Nutrition Service Worker position is responsible for supporting food service activities at assigned locations, including preparing and serving food items to students and school personnel, and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition. This role is a non-contract position with no benefits, open until filled.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Job related experience is desired.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work day.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work day.
- Food Handlers Permit
Responsibilities
- Arranges food and beverage items for serving students and staff.
- Attends unit meetings, in-service training, and workshops.
- Cleans utensils, equipment, and food preparation and serving areas.
- Cooks food to meet nutritional and projected meal requirements.
- Estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes to meet requirements and minimize waste.
- Inspects food items and supplies for quantity, quality, and specifications.
- Inventories food, condiments, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas in a sanitary condition.
- Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas for safety and sanitation.
- Performs functions of other nutritional services positions as requested by supervisor.
- Prepares food and beverage items for breakfast and lunch.
- Reports equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Serves food items to students and school personnel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
