About The Position

The Nutrition Service Worker supports food service activities at assigned locations. Responsibilities include preparing and serving food items to students and school personnel, and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.

Requirements

Age 16+
High school diploma or equivalent
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work day
Able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work day
Food Handlers Permit

Responsibilities

Arranges food and beverage items for serving students and staff.
Attends unit meetings, in-service training, and workshops.
Cleans utensils, equipment, and storage, food preparation, and serving areas.
Cooks food to meet nutritional and projected meal requirements.
Estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes.
Inspects food items and supplies for quantity, quality, and specifications.
Inventories food, condiments, supplies, and equipment.
Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas in a sanitary condition.
Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas for safety and sanitation.
Performs functions of other nutritional services positions as requested.
Prepares food and beverage items for breakfast and lunch.
Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
Serves food items to meet nutritional requirements and requests.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
