About The Position
The Nutrition Service Worker is responsible for supporting food service activities at Belmont Elementary. This includes preparing and serving food items to students and school personnel, and maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. The role is a non-contract position with no benefits and is open until filled.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work day.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work day.
- Food Handlers Permit

Responsibilities
- Arranges food and beverage items for serving students and staff.
- Attends unit meetings, in-service training, and workshops.
- Cleans utensils, equipment, and food service areas.
- Cooks food to meet nutritional and meal requirements.
- Estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes.
- Inspects food items and supplies for quality and specifications.
- Inventories food, condiments, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas in a sanitary condition.
- Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas for safety and sanitation.
- Performs functions of other nutritional services positions as requested.
- Prepares food and beverage items for breakfast and lunch.
- Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Serves food items to students and school personnel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
