About The Position

The Nutrition Service Worker is responsible for supporting food service activities at assigned locations, including preparing and serving food to students and staff, and maintaining a safe and sanitary food service environment. This role involves various tasks related to food preparation, inventory, cleaning, and ensuring compliance with health standards.

Requirements

Age 16+
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work day.
Must be able to push/pull up to 150 lbs. repeatedly throughout a work day.
Food Handlers Permit

Responsibilities

Arranges food and beverage items for serving students and staff.
Attends meetings and training sessions for job-related information.
Cleans utensils, equipment, and food service areas to maintain sanitary conditions.
Cooks food to meet nutritional and meal requirements.
Estimates food preparation amounts and adjusts recipes to meet requirements and minimize waste.
Inspects food items and supplies for quality and compliance with health standards.
Inventories food, condiments, supplies, and equipment to ensure availability.
Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas in a sanitary condition.
Monitors kitchen and cafeteria areas to ensure a safe and sanitary working environment.
Performs functions of other nutritional services positions as needed for staff coverage.
Prepares food and beverage items for breakfast and lunch.
Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisors for repair or replacement.
Serves food items to meet nutritional requirements and requests.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
