About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Nutrition Program Administrator (NPA) is responsible for daily meal preparation under the Child and Adult Care Feeding Program (CACFP) and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) and working with Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia (BGCCG) administration to lead and implement a vision for the nutrition program. The NPA will also serve as the Point of Contact (POC) and oversee all training and compliance for the CACFP and SFSP for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia. The NPA position is responsible for the enforcement and compliance of all local, state, and federal requirements and guidelines related to BGCCG’s CACFP and SFSP programs. S/he will work closely with administrative staff and Club Directors to ensure proper program implementation, documentation, compliance, and billing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or 3 plus years of relevant experience.
  • High School diploma, GED, or High School Equivalency required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a multi-level criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid State of Georgia driver’s license.
  • Attention to details is an absolute must.
  • Self-starter and fully competent in optimizing one's own capacity.
  • Demonstrate openness, flexibility, and self confidence in unique situations.
  • Eager to self-learn and understand the Nutrition Services Division of Bright from the Start standards governing our CACFP and SFSP programs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excels in managing work and timelines.
  • Must live and reside within a 30-minute commute radius of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Georgia’s administrative offices, and within one of the geographical service area counties: Butts, Monroe, Jones, Baldwin, Bibb, Houston, Peach, Crawford, or Twiggs.

  • Experience working with Department of Early Care and Learning – Bright from the Start and Atlas data system highly desirable.
  • Have a current SERV Safe certificate and/or culinary background.

Responsibilities

  • Food Program Compliance and Management: Lead in the administration of CACFP and SFSP programs including program compliance, data collection, weekly and monthly data input, weekly record collections and filing, and monthly program billing.
  • Submit annual applications to state agencies, ensuring site eligibility.
  • Providing staff training, technical assistance and performing field inspections of clubs, summer feeding sites and sponsors.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Conduct required site visits to monitor meal service, accuracy, and safety.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate child nutrition programs to support the mission of BGCCG, State of Georgia and federal USDA programs.
  • Demonstrate a professional knowledge and understanding of Bright from the Start (BFTS) and other food program regulations and interpret regulations for BGCCG.
  • Develop, implement, and disseminate written guidance, policy, and program information for CACFP and SFSP programs to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Independently schedule and prepare materials for administrative reviews and inspections.
  • Review and monitor implementation of corrective action plans, generate follow-up correspondence, and conduct unannounced club and site visits.
  • Ensure uniform program monitoring and compliance review efforts organizational wide.
  • Administer electronic or manual record keeping and reporting instruments and generate reports as needed.
  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional analyses to ensure menus meet appropriate meal pattern requirements.
  • Evaluate and assess compliance with cost principles, audit requirements and Civil Rights requirements.
  • Recommend necessary follow-up actions associated with claims and correspond with supervisor and Finance department to report irregularities.
  • Ensure proper annual CACFP and SFSP staff training is conducted to meet program requirements.
  • Ensure Food Safety protocols are being followed at clubs and sites.
  • Aggressively market food program to communities served by BGCCG and create opportunities to expand and grow our SFSP program to provide meals for children in need.
  • Food and Meal Management: Oversee all food and meal) operations and be responsible for purchasing, receiving, preparing, and presenting all food products in a timely manner, according to established Bright from the Start (BFTS), USDA, and BGCCG policies, and procedures.
  • Overseeing the proper handling, maintenance, and storage of all items.
  • Understanding, managing, and practicing safe food handling procedures.
  • Managing food costs, tracking waste, and controlling kitchen labor costs.
  • Prepares and or deliver 500 – 1,00 meals daily.
  • Place food inventory and program supply orders for the CACFP/SFSP program.
  • Adhere to the CACFP/SFSP grant program guidelines and expectations.
  • Secure and maintain materials, equipment and other resources belonging to the Nutrition program.
  • Keep strict adherence to “mealtimes” schedule and allow for meal delivery.
  • Attending necessary training as required by supervisor, BFTS, or USDA.
  • Work closely with supervisors and club staff to communicate and coordinate ongoing issues and needs within CACFP/SFSP food program.
  • Ensure the operational success of the CACFP/SFSP in all aspects of food procurement and production.
  • Provide oversight or be directly responsible for procedures for delivery of food products and supplies to multiple club sites.
