This is a time-limited grant-funded position in EFNEP Palm Beach County. The Nutrition Educator will promote EFNEP and recruit eligible youth and adult participants through community outreach and partnerships. They will develop and maintain positive working relationships with community organizations to coordinate nutrition education programs, communicate program expectations, and support participant success. The role involves delivering engaging, learner-centered nutrition education using approved, evidence-based curricula that are responsive to participants’ age, culture, language, literacy level, and learning needs. Instruction is delivered through a structured curriculum of a minimum of six lessons for each participant group to promote lasting behavior change. The educator will collect required participant information, administer approved evaluation tools to measure program participation, knowledge gain, and behavior change while maintaining participant confidentiality. They will also connect participants with Extension programs, community resources, and public assistance programs, including SNAP, when appropriate. The educator will represent EFNEP at health fairs, community events, and outreach activities to increase program awareness, strengthen partnerships, and recruit participants. Planning involves coordinating nutrition education programs by scheduling classes, organizing materials, supplies, and equipment, and ensuring classroom logistics support successful program delivery. Activities will be adapted to meet participant needs while maintaining fidelity to approved curricula and compliance with program requirements. The role requires participation in orientation, required trainings, and ongoing professional development to strengthen nutrition knowledge, teaching practices, cultural responsiveness, technology skills, and program implementation. Feedback and new learning will be applied to improve program quality and participant outcomes. Travel throughout the assigned county is necessary for conducting programs, recruiting participants, and attending meetings and trainings. Occasional overnight travel is required for annual statewide training. Accurate and timely participant, program, travel, and administrative records must be maintained in accordance with University, EFNEP, and USDA NIFA requirements. Required reports and documentation must be submitted by established deadlines, and participant confidentiality must be protected. The Nutrition Educator will achieve and maintain food safety certification (SafeStaff).
