About The Position

This part-time, at-will position supports consistent and reliable meal service across the agency’s nutrition operations. The role ensures the accurate and timely delivery of meals and supplies to Nutrition Sites while maintaining high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service. The Driver supports daily program operations by verifying delivery accuracy, communicating issues promptly, and ensuring the agency vehicle remains in proper working condition. The role contributes to the efficiency and reliability of the Nutrition Program by maintaining dependable delivery routes and clear communication with supervisory staff. Through safe driving practices and attention to detail, the Driver helps ensure that essential nutrition services are delivered consistently to the community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and handle unexpected situations calmly.
  • Familiarity with 5-county area, route planning, navigation, and time management.
  • Successful candidate must submit to a pre-employment drug screening, limited criminal history check, driver check, National Sex Offender Registry check, SAM and OIG exclusion screenings.
  • Must pass and maintain compliance with the agency’s background check policy.
  • Proof of educational credentials is required at employment.
  • Valid driver's license and a dependable vehicle required.
  • Must meet the Agency’s required car insurance coverage level at time employment begins and maintain it throughout the duration of employment (Liability Coverage: $100,000/$300,000/$100,000).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in delivery driving preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food and supplies safely and on schedule to designated Nutrition Sites, ensuring all items are placed in appropriate storage areas.
  • Verify accuracy of deliveries and immediately report any delivery errors or discrepancies to the Director.
  • Notify the Director promptly if a delivery may be delayed or unable to be completed so alternate arrangements can be made.
  • Perform routine vehicle upkeep, including regular preventative maintenance, and report the need for major service to the Director.
  • Operate agency vehicles in compliance with all traffic laws and agency safety policies.
  • Safely deliver food and supplies (before 11:00 a.m.) to assigned Nutrition Sites and ensure all products are placed in the correct storage locations.
  • Promptly report any delivery errors or anticipated delays to the Director to support timely corrective action.
  • Perform routine vehicle upkeep and coordinating major service needs with the Director.
  • Operate agency vehicles responsibly and in full compliance with all traffic laws and safety standards.
