About The Position

Baptist Medical Center South is hiring a PRN Nutrition Coordinator for its Patient Food Service team at Baptist South in Jacksonville, Florida. Nutrition Coordinators are part of the caregiving team and support patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature. Coordinators are assigned units in a healthcare facility and help patients make menu selections, assemble meals, and deliver and retrieve meal trays. The position works 12-hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. as needed, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Less than 1 year of customer service experience (required).

Nice To Haves

High school diploma (preferred).

Responsibilities

Help patients understand menu selections and work with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
Obtain patient preferences and modify tray identifiers accordingly.
Support patient satisfaction and participate with a multidisciplinary team to improve the quality of care and services.
Work with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies or sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences, or requests for additional selections.
Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection in a timely and accurate manner.
Deliver and retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
Communicate patient problems or concerns to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
