About The Position

BMS Family Health and Wellness Centers is seeking an experienced and passionate Nutrition Coordinator to support nutrition services within our women, infants, and children (WIC) program. This is an exciting opportunity for a nutrition professional to ensure the well-being of our patients in a nurturing environment while developing and mentoring staff. As our Nutrition Coordinator, you will play a vital leadership role in ensuring exceptional participant care, maintaining program excellence, and advancing nutrition and breastfeeding initiatives throughout our community.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN).
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition from an accredited college or university.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Qualified Nutritionist (QN).
  • One year of experience supervising staff.
  • Current knowledge of WIC regulations, nutrition education, and breastfeeding support services.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, writing, and computer skills.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for all nutrition services while serving as a key resource for staff, participants, healthcare providers, and community partners.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support nutrition staff across multiple WIC locations.
  • Assess training needs and develop ongoing professional development plans.
  • Conduct staff trainings, nutrition in-services, and competency evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment focused on service excellence.
  • Ensure nutrition services meet federal, state, and local WIC regulations and standards.
  • Lead quality assurance activities and staff peer review processes.
  • Participate in annual program assessments, compliance reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor nutrition service delivery to ensure high-quality, participant-centered care.
  • Provide advanced nutrition assessment, counseling, and education for participants with complex nutrition or health concerns.
  • Function as a Qualified Nutritionist (QN) as needed.
  • Oversee food package and formula prescription processes and collaborate with healthcare providers.
  • Assist in resolving participant concerns and ensuring a positive client experience.
  • Help develop and implement nutrition education and breastfeeding promotion initiatives.
  • Coordinate nutrition services with community organizations, healthcare providers, and WIC partners.
  • Participate in professional conferences, trainings, and workgroups to remain current on nutrition best practices.
  • Support the creation and review of nutrition education materials and resources.
