Role Overview The Nutrition Associate delivers evidence based nutrition education, supports WIC Grocery Center operations, conducts food demonstrations and outreach, manages supplies and documentation, and collaborates cross-functional to enhance client experience and program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Minimum H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Background check
  • Drug testing
  • Kneel and move from sitting, bending, kneeling, or standing multiple times a day
  • Climb up and down up to 3 flights of stairs at a time
  • Lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs
  • SERV Safe Manger Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred Associate's Degree (AA) 3-5 years relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Communicate evidence-based nutrition education, facilitate activities, and introduce WIC clients to social media content. Support daily operations of WIC Grocery Centers, including providing resource tours, education, and explanation of benefits.
  • Maintain records and prepares reports of WIC products used for food tasting, sampling, and demonstrations. Manage supplies such as cooking appliances and utensils, education materials, and client incentives.
  • Participate in regular nutrition services meetings to discuss program updates, learn about upcoming curriculum and events, and participate in cooking experiences. Maintain neat and organized demonstration tables in Centers, distributing program-specific materials to clients. Conduct food tasting events, sampling, and demonstrations in compliance with CCAC and food safety standards. Participate in and support community outreach events and initiatives.
  • Work independently and cross functionally, consistently exercising discretion and sound judgment.
  • Collect survey data to assess value of nutrition education. Complete all required documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing learning, training, and skill development, seeking and applying feedback to continuously improve performance and contribute to team and organizational success.
