About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Nutrition Assistant to join its Edgewood Nutrition Services Team. The role supports patient, cafeteria, and catered food service by processing dishware, preparing and assembling foods and patient meal trays, delivering and retrieving meal carts, stocking nourishment supplies, and performing janitorial duties. The Nutrition Assistant must follow applicable sanitation, safety, security, and regulatory standards and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy when interacting with patients, families, visitors, and employees.

Requirements

Must be able to read, write, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

Deliver and retrieve room service meal carts and stock to patient care units.
Coordinate with ambassadors on the timing and placement of carts and ASAP trays.
Add assigned items to carts as needed.
Pick up dirty tray carts, replace them with clean carts, and deliver dirty carts to the dish room.
Perform janitorial tasks, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces, mopping, sweeping, and disposing of trash.
Process utensils and dishware through an automated dish machine for patients, cafeteria, and catered food service in accordance with sanitary guidelines.
Restock clean dishware in cafeteria, cook’s, and room service line areas to meet service needs.
Prepare and assemble foods for patients and assemble patient meal trays and nourishments.
Deliver patient meal carts and nourishment stock.
Comply with local, state, federal, and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation, and security standards.
Participate in performance improvement studies, assist with data collection, and support action plans.
Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in encounters with patients, families, visitors, and employees, regardless of cultural background.
Perform other duties as assigned.
