About The Position
The Nutrition Assistant is a collaborative role on the Nutrition Services team, helping ensure MultiCare patients, families and visitors have positive nutritional health care experiences. The position works with clinical and departmental staff to support optimal nutrition care, performs routine meal-processing and menu-modification functions, checks tray accuracy, and provides customer service to a diverse population. The position is part-time at 0.5 FTE, with an evening shift, at Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, Washington.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- At least one year of food service experience.
- Washington State Food Handler's Card.
Nice To Haves
- Two-year degree in Nutrition preferred.
- At least one year of experience in a direct patient care setting preferred.
- At least six months of experience in a customer service-oriented position preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Nursing staff, doctors, Clinical Dietitians, Dietetic Technicians and other department staff to provide optimal nutrition care for patients.
- Perform routine functions including processing meals, modifying menus and ensuring tray accuracy.
- Provide outstanding customer service while serving a diverse population and supporting organizational values.
