About The Position

Under general supervision of the Director of Nutrition Services or Designee, to prepare, cook or bake a variety of breads, pastries, desserts, meats, vegetables, sauces and other foods in quantity; assist in the overall operation and maintenance of the kitchen and cafeteria; may operate a Snack Bar, “Combo-Line”, or satellite kitchen; and to do related work as may be required. May travel from school site to school site.

Requirements

A completed EDJOIN classified application showing one (1) year of increasingly responsible recent paid experience in commercial or institutional food production.
PDF Copy of High School Diploma, GED Certificate, or equivalent; or copy of transcripts showing high school graduation date. AA/AS are NOT equivalent to the high school requirement.

PDF Copy of a valid Food Safety or Food Protection Manager Certification accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) maintained throughout employment with the Moreno Valley Unified School District.
Successfully complete the District's competitive hiring process, to include a written test, performance test, training, background checks, medical exam given by a District-appointed physician (out-of-pocket cost), and the submission of a Tuberculosis Certificate showing the applicant is free from active tuberculosis within the past 12 months.
Prior to employment, all applicants are subject to a fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, which includes an out-of-pocket fee for processing.
All documents MUST be legible.
Certification (A valid Food Safety or Food Protection Manager Certification accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) maintained throughout employment with the Moreno Valley Unified School District. Examples of accredited food protection manager certifications include: ServSafe Food Protection Manager; State Food Safety Manager (FSM); Certified Food Protection Professional (CFPP); Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS); Food Protection Manager (FPM);)
DMV Printout (CA DMV K4 report dated within 30 days of application submission date. The document must include the word “end” on the final page to indicate the complete document has been submitted.)
Proof of HS Graduation (Copy of High School Diploma/GED or equivalent. Documents in a different language other than English must be evaluated/translated into English.)

Nice To Haves

Certification by the School Nutrition Association is desirable.
