About The Position

SAIC is seeking a Nutrition and Dietary Coordinator located at Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois to support the First Army Mobilization Assistance Team Holistic Soldier Readiness (HSR) Program. The Nutrition and Dietary Coordinator will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties: Individual & Group Counseling: Provides tailored nutrition counseling for Soldiers regarding performance, weight management (Army Body Composition Program), disordered eating, and special dietary needs. Performance Nutrition Education: Educates Soldiers on proper fueling and hydration for training, combat operations, and recovery to enhance performance on the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). Performance-Based Menu Optimization: Collaborates with unit and installation food service teams to optimize dining facility (DEFAC) menus, improve food, beverage, and product choices, and develop field feeding plans. Interdisciplinary Teamwork: Works with Army leaders, Strength and Conditioning Coaches, Athletic Trainers, and Occupational Therapists to implement the H2F program and coordinate care for injured Soldiers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and one (1)+ years of related experience; additional four (4) years of experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Must have current US Citizenship.
  • Experience in assessing nutrition needs, providing counseling, and developing organization-wide nutrition programs to professional or collegiate sports programs.
  • Experience with military audiences preferred.
