About The Position

The Nutrition Services Aide prepares and portions food, assembles and disassembles patient trays in a safe manner, serves customers, delivers, and retrieves patient trays. This is a temporary position with 0.81 FTE (65 hours per pay period) and involves day shifts with every other weekend work. The schedule alternates weekly: Week One includes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday shifts from 7am-2:30pm or 6:30am-3pm. Week Two includes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday shifts from 7am-2:30pm.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, using the English language.
• Basic math skills

Responsibilities

• Prepares and portions food appropriately for designated area
• Prepares and delivers patient nourishments and tube feeding per department standards.
• Plates and serves food
• Accurately place correct item on tray in proper location in accordance with department productivity standards.
• Handles and stores food in a safe manner following HACCP standard operating procedures.
• Wash and sanitize dishes and utensils.
• Serves customers in cafeterias, doctor’s dining rooms and other non-patient locations.
• Accurately operates cash register.
