Requirements
- No experience or training required.
- NOTE: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
Responsibilities
- Transports or escorts patients to and from units and departments for various activities; may assist patients with ambulation.
- Performs general tasks such as transporting specimens to the lab.
- Receives and distributes clean linen; makes and changes bed linen.
- Cleans immediate patient care areas.
- Cleans unit refrigerators; mops or sweeps floors as necessary.
- Distributes dietary trays; feeds patients; provides patients with drinking water, ice, and other drinks.
