The Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD) is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to provide clinical and operational leadership for nursing and interdisciplinary care teams. This position is responsible for overseeing direct patient care services, supervising clinical staff, and ensuring that health services, medical care, and evidence-based practices are delivered effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. The Nursing Supervisor supports the planning, organization, coordination, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical operations, staff development, quality initiatives, and patient care services. This role may provide direct patient care as needed and collaborates closely with providers, clinical leadership, and interdisciplinary team members to promote high-quality, patient-centered care. Makes effective and timely recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, transfer, and disciplinary actions. Makes appropriate hiring decisions in collaboration with the Assistant Director and Director, Clinical Services. Develops and manages the talents, strengths, and performance of nursing, medical assistant, and social work staff, providing opportunities for employees to contribute to clinic goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Encourages and facilitates staff participation in team decision-making, problem-solving, and service improvement activities. Recognizes and rewards staff contributions that support service excellence and organizational goals. Completes performance evaluations for assigned staff in a timely manner and provides clear, objective documentation. Ensures staff maintain required competencies and comply with organizational policies, procedures, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements. Communicates performance expectations clearly and holds staff accountable for meeting established standards. Promotes a culture of collaboration, professionalism, respect, and patient-centered care among interdisciplinary team members. Understands and appropriately applies applicable collective bargaining agreements and personnel policies. Creates and maintains an environment that supports the recruitment, engagement, development, and retention of qualified staff. Reviews performance data, identifies trends, and implements appropriate coaching, corrective action, or development plans. Maintains knowledge of University policies and federal and state laws related to employee leave, accommodations, and workplace practices. Ensures employees understand their roles and responsibilities and are equipped to meet or exceed patient and customer service expectations. Assists in managing clinic operating expenses through effective staffing, resource utilization, and cost-conscious decision-making. Reviews financial reports and provides input regarding budget variances and operational performance to the Assistant Director and Director, Clinical Services. Recommends resource allocation, budget initiatives, and cost-containment strategies through participation in staffing, supply, and operational planning. Develops staffing plans and promotes flexible scheduling approaches that support patient care needs and operational efficiency. Communicates fiscal goals and encourages responsible stewardship of organizational resources. Promotes high performance and accountability through effective management of personnel and operational resources. Provides clinical leadership and operational oversight for nursing, medical assistant, and social work services to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated patient care. Collaborates with the CDD Clinical Leadership Team to identify opportunities for quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and operational excellence. Incorporates principles of service excellence to foster positive patient, family, and customer experiences. Implements and maintains quality improvement initiatives, clinical standards, and patient satisfaction goals. Identifies inefficiencies in processes and workflows and develops solutions to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency. Exercises sound judgment and decision-making based on objective information and organizational priorities. Fosters a positive work environment that supports employee engagement, professional development, retention, and operational excellence. Engages staff in achieving quality, service, and operational goals. Ensures the clinic remains survey-ready and compliant with applicable regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards, including staff education, competencies, and policy maintenance. Supervises clinical care delivery and coordinates interdisciplinary care teams to promote continuity of care, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency. Develops staffing plans and adjusts staffing priorities as needed to ensure appropriate coverage, quality patient care, and efficient clinic operations. Serves as a resource for complex patient care, care coordination, and service delivery issues. Provides direct patient care as needed within scope of practice and organizational expectations. Builds collaborative relationships with nursing staff, medical assistants, social workers, providers, administrative staff, and other organizational departments. Oversees care coordination activities and promotes effective communication among interdisciplinary team members. Collaborates with the CDD Clinical Leadership Team to develop and implement clinic strategic goals and operational plans. Utilizes patient, family, and customer feedback to improve services, processes, and patient outcomes. Communicates effectively with providers, staff, and other healthcare professionals to support efficient clinic operations and high-quality patient care. Communicates with patients, families, and staff to address concerns, resolve issues, and promote positive relationships. Utilizes workforce, operational, and budgetary data to formulate recommendations for clinic leadership. Builds and sustains collaborative relationships, effectively manages conflict, and facilitates productive problem-solving and decision-making. Provides evaluative feedback and coaching to staff members and healthcare students. Coaches and mentors interdisciplinary staff in clinical standards, professional development, certification attainment, and regulatory compliance. Educates and supports staff in managing complex patient care, care coordination, and interdisciplinary practice issues. Collaborates with clinical instructors and educators to facilitate clinical learning experiences for staff and students. Promotes a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and lifelong development. Maintains professional knowledge and skills through ongoing learning and development activities. Promotes the use of evidence-based practices and quality improvement methodologies to enhance patient outcomes, patient experience, and operational effectiveness. Supports the implementation of evidence-based clinical practices, care delivery models, and quality improvement initiatives across nursing, medical assistant, and social work services.
