About The Position

Exalt Health is an acute rehabilitation hospital providing intensive rehabilitation services to patients able to tolerate three hours of rehabilitation per day. The hospital cares for patients with complex rehabilitative needs, including stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, head trauma, medically debilitating conditions, neurological disorders, cardiopulmonary conditions, amputations, orthopedic injuries, and multiple major traumas.

The Nursing Supervisor leads and supports registered nurses and licensed practical nurses in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients recovering from these conditions. The role combines direct patient care, staff supervision and development, quality and safety oversight, patient advocacy, and participation in unit operations.

Requirements

• Current, unencumbered registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in the state where currently practicing.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• At least 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Proven track record of leading and improving clinical quality, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.
• Strong understanding of current trends and best practices in rehabilitation medicine.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Passion for patient-centered care and commitment to rehabilitation services.
• Promote a healing environment and use resources to achieve optimum patient outcomes.
• Organize and prioritize tasks and projects, completing responsibilities accurately within specified time constraints.
• Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing, and write legibly.
• Adhere to ethical, regulatory, and accreditation standards and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Respect patient rights and promote customer satisfaction.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers and other hospital employees, adapt to changing guest or staff situations, and seek assistance as needed.
• Function proficiently in a Microsoft Windows environment, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN®) certification.
• Previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assessing patient needs, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team on individualized care plans.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including assigning tasks, providing ongoing feedback and development opportunities, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Monitor patient outcomes, identify and address potential risks, and contribute to continuous improvement of quality care practices.
• Promote a positive, respectful, and patient-centered environment; support effective communication with patients and families and advocate for patient needs.
• Participate in unit operations, including preparing schedules, managing budgets, and collaborating with other departments to support efficient patient care flow.
