About The Position
The Nursing Supervisor for the Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) is responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring high-quality patient care. This role involves managing nursing staff, coordinating patient assignments, and acting as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team. The supervisor plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment, adhering to hospital policies and procedures, and promoting a culture of excellence in patient care.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of West Virginia.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum of [Specify number, e.g., 3-5] years of experience in nursing, with a significant portion in critical care or intermediate care.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and patient care standards.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Nice To Haves
- ACLS certification.
- Previous experience as a charge nurse or nursing supervisor.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher.
- Experience with quality improvement methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of nursing staff within the Intermediate Care Unit.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
- Manage patient assignments and workflow to optimize efficiency and patient outcomes.
- Act as a point of contact for patient and family concerns, providing support and resolution.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of patient care services.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
