About The Position

The Nursing Supervisor will support the daily operations within our women's health (LDRP) and NICU departments. Our women's and children's departments offer a collaborative space where Registered Nurses, Lactation support, OB Techs, and Health Unit Coordinators work side by side, supporting one another to provide the best care possible. The nursing supervisor will partner closely with our women's and children's manager and educator to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and caring environment. Our women’s health unit has 18 LDRP rooms, 1 labor triage room, 2 C-section suites, and an outpatient lactation room. Our women's health unit supports patients through labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care, with a strong focus on safety, comfort, and individualized support in a community focused environment. Our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is an 11-bed level II NICU with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner support in house 24/7. Our NICU nursing team provides care for respiratory distress and pre-term medical support with a family-centered approach.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association or within 6 months.
  • Typically requires 3 years of nursing experience in either women's health or NICU with Charge Nurse experience.

Responsibilities

  • This role partners closely with frontline teams, assists with daily operations such as scheduling, workflow coordination, and helps resolves barriers in real time.
  • In addition, this position will play an active role in supporting quality outcomes, reinforcing standards, and advancing hospital initiatives while fostering a respectful, team‑centered environment.
  • Responsible for supervising nursing, support staff and patient care activities on assigned shifts.
  • Acts as a clinical resource to unit staff members.
  • May also assume responsibility for direct patient care as needed.
  • Promotes the conceptual framework of Aurora Health Care's nursing practice. This is accomplished by subscribing to the five management accountabilities: human resources, fiscal, materials management, support and system linkage.
