About The Position

This is a Full Time Days position for a Nursing Supervisor (RN) in the Medical Surgical 4B unit. The role involves delivering high-quality patient care through nursing education, research, and innovations in practice. The unit is a 22-bed Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with a 1:5 RN to patient ratio and 1 PCT for every 10-11 patients. The position is located at Texas Health Plano, a 386-bed full-service hospital serving North Texas, specializing in various areas including emergency medicine, trauma, cardiology, neurosurgery, orthopedics, women's services, behavioral health, and advanced surgical services. Texas Health Plano is a Level II Trauma Facility, holds Level IV NICU and Level IV Maternal facility designations, and has a DNV-certified Comprehensive Stroke Program. It is a four-time Magnet-designated hospital, features the only AACN Beacon Gold adult intensive care unit in the DFW area, and is accredited by the Joint Commission in Hip and Knee Replacement as a Primary Heart Attack Center. The hospital offers an on-site childcare center.

Requirements

Associate's Degree Nursing Req
5 Years Experience as a registered nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e. Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) Req
RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Req
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support 90 Days Req
BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Req
CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training 60 Days Req
NRP - Essential Neonatal Resuscitation Program Upon Hire Req

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree Nursing Pref
3 Years Emergency and/or critical care nursing Pref
Experience as preceptor and/or charge nurse highly preferred
