The Facility Nursing House Supervisor is responsible for maintaining continuity of patient care in all areas of the hospital in the absence of unit nurse managers/directors. This role involves supervising and coordinating hospital personnel to ensure a safe and efficient standard of care, making patient care assignments, and evaluating the care provided by others. The supervisor will also assess patient census and acuity, collaborate with leadership for patient care assignments, and ensure the efficient delivery of necessary materials. They will respond to emergency codes, escalate issues, and notify on-call personnel of impending emergency surgery. The position requires consistent use of the nursing process, effective communication, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to provide quality care. The supervisor will address patient and unit issues using a problem-solving approach and support the organization's mission, vision, and policies. Nurses are expected to practice according to the Nursing Professional Practice Model.
