About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Nursing Supervisor to provide clinical leadership and support to licensed nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other clinical support staff involved in direct and indirect patient care. This role is responsible for overseeing daily clinical operations, ensuring high standards of patient care, supporting staff development, and promoting a collaborative healthcare environment. The Nursing Supervisor will also coordinate disease-specific education for patients and families, assist with staff in-service training, and maintain clinical competency in nursing procedures and patient care management. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the clinical team, physicians, physician extenders, diagnostic agencies, and referral sources to ensure continuity of care and smooth patient admissions.
  • Support and promote a positive, team-oriented work environment that encourages collaboration and professional growth.
  • Participate in and support the center’s Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Participate in committees, meetings, and special projects as assigned.
  • Report pertinent staffing concerns, patient care issues, and operational matters to the Director of Nursing in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and direct licensed and non-licensed nursing personnel in the delivery of quality patient care.
  • Promote and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, physician extenders, laboratories, pharmacies, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, timely, and coordinated care.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare staff to maintain a positive and supportive care environment.
  • Oversee and supervise patient care delivery to ensure compliance with clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans to address patients’ physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs.
  • Promptly communicate significant changes in patient condition to appropriate clinical team members, including physicians, physician extenders, patients, and legal representatives, while ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Conduct routine chart audits to ensure nursing documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Keep nursing leadership informed regarding patient care concerns, employee performance issues, and behavioral matters.
  • Participate in clinical rounds with medical providers and follow through on physician or physician extender orders as appropriate.
  • Review physician orders, diagnostic reports, and pharmacy communications, and coordinate follow-up related to medication changes and treatment updates.
  • Investigate and address patient or family complaints promptly and communicate outcomes to nursing administration.
  • Complete accident and incident reports as required and ensure timely follow-up and submission to nursing leadership.
  • Perform and assist with clinical procedures and direct patient care as needed, including but not limited to: Phlebotomy, IV therapy initiation and management, Central line care, Wound care management, Medication administration, Urinary catheter insertion and care, Tracheostomy, colostomy, and ileostomy care, Enteral feeding tube management, Other nursing procedures within scope of practice.
  • Assist in the development, review, and updating of patient care plans as needed.
  • Participate in patient admissions, transfers, and discharge processes to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Coordinate and communicate new patient admission information while ensuring patient rooms are properly prepared prior to arrival.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
