Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate nursing degree program, masters preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing practice or progressive leadership experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and interpersonal effectiveness required.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, problem solving, and computer skills required.
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements.
- Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
- Additional state licensure(s) and/or specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
- Prior leadership experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Nurse Supervisor experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supervises the day-to-day clinical operation of designated work unit(s) providing guidance and support to the clinical and support staff to ensure that quality patient or client focused care is delivered.
- Provides professional patient care utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with the patient, families and interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet educational and discharge needs.
- May assist in high-risk procedures, surgery and/or provide patient education in specific units.
- Assures that appropriate care is delivered.
- Supports leadership through activities that include hiring and development of staff, teaching, community involvement, participation in committees and research (as applicable).
- May have clinical responsibilities (i.e., patient assignments) in some smaller work units.
