About The Position

The Nursing Student Success Coach leads efforts in NCLEX-RN preparation and identifies students at risk to implement targeted remediation strategies in collaboration with SON Director, Assistant Director, and faculty. This position reports to the Associate Dean of the Brooks College of Health and requires on-campus work for 20 hours per week at the University of North Florida (UNF), including work at the Simulation Center at the Deerwood campus.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.
  • Active and unencumbered RN or APRN License in FL.
  • Interpret University and College Policies related to admissions, progression and graduation.
  • On campus work (not remote) for 20 hours per week at the UNF.
  • Work at the Simulation Center at the Deerwood campus.
  • Background check.
  • Credit check (may be required).
  • Designated as a “Responsible Employee” pursuant to their role under Title IX.
  • Must promptly report allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual violence, and child sexual abuse by or against any student, employee, contractor, or visitor to the University’s Title IX Administrator or any divisional Title IX Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized academic coaching and support to nursing students.
  • Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes student engagement and well-being.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and support services to ensure comprehensive academic support.
  • Identify students at risk at both the course and program levels using academic performance data and faculty input.
  • Track academic progression and maintain detailed records of at-risk students.
  • Design and implement individualized success and remediation plans in collaboration with faculty.
  • Conduct regular follow-up meetings with students to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
  • Coordinate and implement NCLEX-RN preparation strategies, including workshops, practice exams, and review sessions.
  • Monitor student performance on standardized assessments and provide targeted support.
  • Develop and coordinate student success offerings such as tutoring, academic workshops, and peer mentoring.
  • Analyze academic performance trends across the prelicensure program to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to enhance curriculum and support services based on data-driven insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of SON and/or other BCH leadership.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned by Director of SON.
  • May provide back-up to other staff positions within SON.
