Joining DaVita as Patient Care Technician (PCT) is an exciting opportunity to jump start your career in the health care industry. With paid, extensive training, you will gain the skills needed to care for our patients and build a network of other health care professionals across the geography where you live. Once you have successfully completed training, you will join a holistic team of care professionals – including nurses, dietitian, social workers, and other experienced PCTs – to care for our patients. Requirements

  • Nursing Student set to graduate in May 2027
  • GPA of 3.0 or above in nursing core curriculum
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to travel locally
  • Must have open availability to train full time during school summer break
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 may be required by hospitals in this program, which may include a booster when eligible

Responsibilities

  • Complete our award winning training program during school summer break (10 weeks, must have open availability to train full time - FULLY PAID)
  • Work minimum 1 shift per week as a Patient Care Technician (during Senior Year)
  • Provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment
  • Care for up to 2 patients at a time
  • Monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup
  • Educate patients on Kidney Dialysis related topics
