About The Position

The Nursing Station Technician - Med/Surg - NST assists with patient care, performs receptionist duties at the station, and maintains patient care areas. The role may suit candidates with CNA experience, as CNA skills and responsibilities closely align with those of a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT).

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to function independently and maturely.
• Ability to read, write, and carry out directions.
• Ability to assemble, maintain, and record data accurately.
• Sympathetic attitude toward the care of the ill.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross; certification may be completed as part of the orientation program if not already held.
• Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance.
• May be required to work weekends or overtime.

Nice To Haves

• Preferred 1–2 years of experience working in a health care setting as a HUC, NA, or NST, or equivalent experience.
• Vocational/Technical Training or an Associate Degree preferred.
• Successful completion of a health unit coordinator program preferred.
