About The Position

The Nursing Station Technician (NST) assists with patient care, performs receptionist duties at the nursing station, and maintains patient care areas. The position’s skills and responsibilities closely align with those of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), and Patient Care Technician (PCT).

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to function independently and maturely.
• Ability to read, write, and carry out directions.
• Ability to assemble, maintain, and record data accurately.
• A sympathetic attitude toward the care of ill people.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, unless completing the certification during orientation.
• May be required to work weekends or overtime.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of experience working in a health care setting as a health unit coordinator (HUC), nursing assistant (NA), or nursing station technician (NST), or equivalent experience.
• Vocational/technical training or an associate degree.
• Successful completion of a health unit coordinator program.

Responsibilities
