About The Position

St. Luke’s is seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Nursing School Instructors. In this role, you will collaborate with clinical unit leadership to plan, implement, and evaluate clinical instruction. You will support an academic and non-academic environment conducive to effective student learning and personal development, while contributing to the advancement of the nursing profession and practice. Prior to starting your assignment, you will need to complete specific requirements and orientation materials, including uploading documentation for criminal background and health history clearances, a signed Research Review Committee-Student Research Acknowledgement form, and a copy of your current RN License.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey
  • Maintenance of clinical competence as registered nurse.
  • Upload documentation attesting that you have the required criminal background and health history clearances completed by your school.
  • Upload a completed Research Review Committee-Student Research Acknowledgement form that must be signed off by your school.
  • Upload a copy of your current RN License.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a positive milieu in the clinical environment that fosters student learning and development.
  • Evaluates student learning outcomes on the unit of clinical instruction.
  • Evaluates student clinical performance in accordance with established standards defined by the course faculty, the school, and SLUHN.
  • Established positive faculty, student, and staff relationships with effective communications in formal and informal contacts.
  • Utilizes current clinical nursing research applicable to area of teaching.
  • Serves as professional role model for students and staff.
  • Implements a philosophy, conceptual framework, and content/process instructional plan to insure integrity of the program curriculum.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the SLUHN as well as the proper release of information.
  • Complies with SLUHN policies of environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates/models the SLUHN Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external).
  • Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes and practices.
  • Complies with SLUHN policies regarding attendance, parking, and dress code.
  • Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
