About The Position

As a member of a Home Care Team, reporting to the Manager Health Services, the incumbent functions as part of the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of a consistent standard of client nursing services. This is achieved through responsible management of nursing staff and other resources. Nursing Resource Coordinators supervise and manage their staff according to the MNU collective agreement, CRNM Standards of Practice and Operational Standards for the Visiting Nurse Program.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years recent related nursing experience.
  • Experience supervising staff required, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with Employer policy.
  • Valid Driver’s License and use of a vehicle.
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize a large complex workload to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication skills – both oral and written.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cultural diversity as it relates to clients and staff.
  • Demonstrates ability to function as a team member; works collaboratively across sectors; is an active participant in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Basic computer skills in a windows environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Community experience an asset.
  • Case Management experience an asset.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
