About The Position

Join our Quality & Safety team and play a key role in leading enterprise-wide initiatives that improve patient outcomes, strengthen professional nursing practice, and advance a culture of safety across UW Health. We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to lead enterprise-wide quality and safety initiatives that support nursing-sensitive indicators, hospital-acquired condition prevention, regulatory readiness, and National Patient Safety Goals. You will design, implement, maintain, and evaluate evidence-based programs that improve quality, safety, and clinical outcomes through process improvement and sustainable practice change. Provide clinical expertise and program leadership by developing workflows, translating evidence into practice, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across the organization. Review current research, best practices, and regulatory standards to develop, implement, and evaluate programs that advance nursing quality and safety. Partner with nursing and system leaders through enterprise-wide committees, workgroups, and communication strategies to drive organizational priorities and continuous improvement. Evaluate program outcomes and coordinate educational initiatives that promote evidence-based practice, professional nursing excellence, and a culture of quality and safety throughout UW Health.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing Required or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required and Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Administration or related field Required or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing AND twenty (20) years of nursing experience with a minimum of ten (10) of those years being in a nursing supervisor role or above may be considered in lieu of Master’s Degree Required
  • 5 years of relevant experience working as a Registered Nurse Required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Wisconsin or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • MSN degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience in quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory/accreditation standards, nursing professional practice, or performance improvement is strongly preferred.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred and Master's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Administration or related field Preferred
  • Experience with the applicable program Preferred
  • Program or project management experience Preferred
  • Certification in area of specialty or eligible for certification Preferred
