About The Position

MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist to join their Nursing Education team. This role is crucial in advancing nursing excellence by developing, mentoring, and empowering nursing professionals through evidence-based education, leadership development, and innovative practice initiatives. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Healthcare or related field.
  • 5 years of clinical nursing experience in oncology or assigned specialty practice area.
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure State of Texas Professional Nursing License (RN) upon hire.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support upon hire or CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • For nursing education, two years of preceptor or instructor experience.
  • OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification upon hire.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification as required by patient care area upon hire.
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification as required by patient care area upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and evaluates evidence-based nursing professional development programs.
  • Facilitates training and educational programs for nursing staff.
  • Maintains required documentation and records.
  • Serves as a consultant, mentor, and resource to nurses and interdisciplinary team members.
