About The Position
Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Nursing Professional Development Generalist for Mother/Baby. The role assumes operational responsibility for developing and implementing staff education within designated populations. It facilitates learning through orientation, practice transitions, and continuing education, and provides foundational education and competency/skills validation to help nurses progress from novice to beginner or competent practitioners. The position is accountable for defined aspects of staff development, continuing education, and nursing staff professional development to improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes. It also supports system and hospital performance-improvement and evidence-based-practice projects and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree as a Registered Nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Registered Nurse licensure.
- Two years of recent acute-care experience in Women’s Health, Mother-Baby, or Postpartum.
Nice To Haves
- Five years of experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
