About The Position

This position supports nursing professional development at PRMC in Acute Care Units. The Nursing Professional Development Practitioner serves as a primary resource for planning, coordinating, and facilitating professional nursing and clinical staff education throughout the Parkview Health System. The role plans, coordinates, and facilitates education initiatives in support of Parkview Health’s mission, vision, and strategies, applying adult learning principles in program development and presentation. The practitioner serves as a role model and advocates for performance improvement in collaboration with coworkers across Parkview Health.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. Acceptable accrediting agencies are CCNE, ACEN, or CNEA. Employees hired before September 2012 qualify under previous BS requirements.
• Valid Registered Nurse license for the state where services will be provided.
• Nursing Professional Development certification or equivalent within three years.
• At least five years of direct patient care experience, preferably in the position’s specialty area.
• Prior experience in an education role, such as patient education, staff education, community education, or academic education.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
• Certification in another clinical specialty area is encouraged.
• For NICU and Obstetrics educators, a master’s degree is required by Indiana Perinatal Standards; MSN is preferred, or the educator must be actively pursuing the degree.
• For NICU and Obstetrics educators, advanced neonatal and obstetrical experience is required by Indiana Perinatal Standards.
