About The Position

This is a postdoctoral fellowship position within Emory Healthcare, focused on nursing research. The fellowship provides advanced training under a Principal Investigator to develop research skills and independence, preparing individuals for a career in research. The specific research area will be determined by the department and laboratory. Fellows will be involved in designing and evaluating experiments, developing new research ideas, and publishing scientific manuscripts. The role may also include operating specific equipment and teaching techniques to research staff. These are temporary appointments as research trainees, with an initial one-year term, renewable based on satisfactory progress and funding availability. Appointments cannot exceed five years.

Requirements

• A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS, etc.) in an appropriate field.
• Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
• A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.

Nice To Haves

• PhD in Nursing completed within the last 3 years
• Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.

Responsibilities

• Helps design and conduct research within a specified field while receiving advanced training from a designated Principal Investigator to enhance professional skills and research independence needed for pursuit of a career.
• Designs and evaluates experiments.
• Develops new ideas that promote current research.
• Prepares and publishes scientific manuscripts under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
• May be responsible for operation of specific equipment.
• May teach techniques to others, train, and supervise research staff.
