About The Position

Sierra Health and Wellness is seeking a Nursing Manager to join their team. They focus on restoring families, relationships, and self-worth through evidence-based methods, addressing substance abuse and mental health issues. The organization operates two inpatient facilities in scenic Bangor, CA. The Nursing Manager will work across a 6-bed primary mental health facility and a 16-bed veteran drug & alcohol treatment facility. Clients are admitted voluntarily and receive compassionate care. The position is available for a Sunday-Thursday schedule from 9am to 5:30pm.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited University or School of Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nursing (RN) License in the State of California for 1+ years.
  • Current TB Test, CPR/First Aid.
  • Ability to travel to various locations.

  • Certified to draw blood

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review medical records, nurses’ notes to evaluate the resident’s physical and emotional status.
  • Audit/review charts daily.
  • Provide nursing care as ordered by medical providers, care plans, established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and pass medications in accordance with nursing standards and facility policies.
  • Sign, date and perform all charting, record keeping, and care plans in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and support personnel management of staff including providing real-time coaching and education to nursing staff as needed.
  • Practice in accordance with nursing scope and Joint Commission and California Department of Health Care Services regulations.
  • Assist in interviewing, and on-boarding/training of new nursing department staff.
  • Support leadership with chart audits, staffing schedules, and other duties as assigned.
  • Communicates with medical providers and the program director to ensure safe patient care and compliance.
  • Assists with coordinating care to outside providers, pick up of medications, and after-care plans for clients.
  • Other duties as assigned.
