About The Position

The Coordinator of Nursing Services, under direction, serves as administrative supervisor of nursing staff. Assists with efficient coordination and operation of clinical service areas regarding nursing support. This role is crucial for supporting strategic leadership for Nursing and Clinical Services under the guidance of the Associate Director of Nursing and Clinical Services. The position works closely with the medical staff and the Associate Director of Nursing and Clinical Services to ensure the efficient coordination of nursing support in all clinical areas. It also provides administrative support to nurses in specialized roles and oversees nursing staff compliance with licensing requirements. The role is responsible for coordinating the development and updates of policies and procedures, providing information on supply and equipment needs, and leading efforts to ensure efficient operations and quality healthcare.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience as a Registered Nurse including at least one year of related supervisory experience.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of standard nursing procedures.
  • Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Experience with provider scheduling, staffing coordination, hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
  • Experience in clinic operations, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as supervisor for the Registered Nurse II staff, completing annual evaluations, approving leave requests, and other duties.
  • Provides effective and timely performance management through performance evaluations, employee recognition, and disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Serves as hiring manager for all full-time and part-time clinical support positions.
  • Develops nurse staffing assignments for clinical service areas and manages the schedule.
  • Provides training for nursing staff, clinical support staff, and student employees.
  • Assists with staff development and continuing education activities for nurses.
  • Supports strategic leadership for Nursing and Clinical Services under the guidance of the Associate Director of Nursing and Clinical Services.
  • Works closely with the medical staff and the Associate Director of Nursing and Clinical Services to ensure the efficient coordination of nursing support in all clinical areas.
  • Provides administrative support to the nurses charged with Nurse Clinic, Preventive Medicine, or Case Management duties.
  • Oversees nursing staff compliance with licensing requirements.
  • Coordinates the development and updates of appropriate policies and procedures that pertain to work performed by members of the nursing staff.
  • Provides administration with information regarding the need for nursing and medical supplies and equipment.
  • Provides leadership to assist with the efficient coordination and operation of clinical service areas with regards to nursing support.
  • Supports quality health care by contributing to the establishment and review of qualitative and quantitative measures of performance and accountability for members of the nursing staff.
  • Oversees inventory/ purchasing activities for clinical areas
  • Provides direct patient care and treatment in accordance with professional nursing standards.
