About The Position

York Hills is a children and youth mental health agency that offers a wide range of mental health services, supports and partnerships providing meaningful and evidence informed/based treatment to children, and youth, aged 0 to 18 years, and their families. The Manager of Clinical Services is responsible for providing leadership and direction for clinical services, strategies, planning, design, implementation, delivery, and assessment of assigned services. This portfolio includes oversight of the Child, youth and family therapy in the Live-In Treatment Program, the Transitions program, STEP Program planning, and Intake for the Day Treatment Program. The Manager is also responsible for maintaining a professional working relationship with school board and child welfare partners and will remain knowledgeable on current and emerging research pertaining to clinical frameworks, industry best practices, and will ensure appropriate agency approved therapeutic intervention models are utilized. Requirements

Completion of a post-secondary degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling and/or a combination of education and experience.
Membership in a relevant professional regulatory body such as the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
In depth practical and technical knowledge.
Minimum of three (3) years of staff supervisory experience.
Experience utilizing various modalities of psychotherapy and counselling.
Knowledge of child and youth mental health legislation and regulations, including child welfare and education systems.
Strong knowledge of evidence-based and evidence-informed treatment modalities, including but not limited to: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Trauma-Informed and Attachment-Based Therapy.
Experience working with children and youth living with depression, anxiety, strained social relationships, eating disorders, self-harm behaviour, trauma, psychiatric diagnoses, learning disabilities, and difficult family dynamics.
Knowledge of child and youth development, family systems and neurobiology, including community and agency programs and services to support the transition of age youth and adults.
Demonstrates sound judgement related to the development of collaborative approaches working with children, youth and their families, including high-risk circumstances and safety planning.
Experience utilizing suicide risk assessments and intervention skills.
Ability to delegate tasks as needed.
Demonstrates versatility in the ability to work independently and collaboratively to support agency and program goals.
Excellent organizational, solution-based problem-solving and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to effectively build trust, rapport and foster collaboration within a community-based setting, including multidisciplinary teams and cross-sector services providers.
Functional technological skills (e.g., Office 365, MS Office, SharePoint, software applications).
Awareness and appreciation for the dynamics of equity issues (diversity, equity, and inclusion), especially as it relates to gender, ethnicity, race, and economic status.
Identification with the strategic mission, vision, and values of the organization including inclusion, collaboration, people centered, knowledgeable and courageous.
Competence in modelling professionalism and maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including editing skills with attention to detail.
A willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekend work and on-call support on a rotational schedule.
Valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle clear driver’s abstract, letter of experience from insurance company, including proof of automobile insurance.
Must possess a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check.

Responsibilities

Leads and promotes the Mission, Vision and Values statements, ensuring operational and service policies and procedures are adhered to with ethical conduct.
Models an in-depth understanding of ethical behaviour ensuring that ethical standards throughout the Agency are consistent and aligned with quality improvement standards.
Ensures that services are delivered according to clinical design, direction and agency-approved clinical frameworks.
Monitors and ensures that service delivery complies with legislative, quality assurance standards, procedures, legislation, accreditation and best practices.
Establishes quality service that is consistent with client and outcome focused service delivery, including the integration of a family-centered model of care.
Oversees the direct treatment planning for clients and families who require management input, including consultation for decision-making purposes.
Communicates service needs, programs and outcomes to staff and community partners in a timely manner.
Actively reviews program referrals, assigns therapists, and tracks pre-determined service timelines.
Supports the Directors in addressing all requests for records, verification of services and support letters.
Works with the Director of Intensive Services to ensure services meet the appropriate standards, including grant and funding conditions and requirements.
Provides clinical leadership support through maintaining knowledge of industry best practices and models that effectively meet the needs of clients.
Actively participates in treatment planning for clients and families requiring management input and consultation for decision-making purposes.
Implements quality assurance and evaluation processes that involve monitoring, collection, recording of clinical and service data, including submitting data in a timely manner and in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
Supports future department and organizational objectives that are consistent with the scope, level, and purpose of the position.
Performs other duties as assigned that are reasonably related to responsibilities and objectives of this position.
Provides management and supervision of all daily operations within assigned teams.
Facilitates regular team meetings to discuss administrative, clinical, and learning concerns that impact the team and/or clients, including assisting staff in problem-solving and engaging in supportive practices.
Works closely with Managers from other programs to ensure collaboration between staff, effective planning for shared clients, and coordinated services between programs.
Maintains statistical database to support program analysis and quality improvement, including identifying trends in service provision and their outcomes and addressing opportunities for quality improvement of services.
Provides timely review of reports and ensures reporting timelines are followed.
Works with the Director of Intensive Services to develop, implement and maintain program procedures and guidelines that meet the highest standards of practice.
Builds and fosters positive relationships with external agencies and community partners, including attending meetings as needed.
Liaises with appropriate school board personnel to ensure the program service delivery can take place as mandated and collaborate to problem solve as needed.
Ensures effective procurement processes are in place to acquire service and program resources within financial parameters.
Maintains positive communication pathways with partners throughout York Region, inclusive of school boards, child welfare agencies, and mental health partners.
Ensures the completion of program orientation and training in accordance with accreditation standards, internal policies, and procedures.
Ensures that staff maintain and enhance learning objectives required for their role and develop individual performance improvement plans as needed.
Works with Human Resources to ensure memberships, licenses, background checks, and certifications are up to date via submission of required documents on ADP.
Participates in regular supervision with the Director of Intensive Services to discuss client, program, and operational matters and to review progress towards assigned goals, projects, and performance expectations.
Engages in ongoing professional development as it applies to the role and agency policies.
Builds and maintains interactions with colleagues focused on individual, team, and organization success.

Provides on- call support to the agency on a rotational basis (infrequent Weekend mostly virtual coverage).
