About The Position

This role is for a Nursing Intern in the Labor and Delivery department at Ascension St. Joseph's Hospital. The intern will provide direct patient care, assist with activities of daily living under the supervision of a nurse preceptor, and document vital signs and patient status. They will also contribute to patient care plan development by providing observed clinical data and executing assigned supportive tasks such as environmental services and patient transport.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High school diploma/GED required.
Must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon date of hire/transfer and begin classes within 90 days of date of hire/transfer required.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living under the supervision of a nurse preceptor.
Take, observe, and document vital signs, patient status, and test results, reporting all updates to care staff.
Help develop patient care plans by contributing observed clinical data and diagnostic findings.
Execute assigned supportive tasks, including environmental services and patient transport for diagnostic procedures.
