About The Position

The RN Intern I assists with patient care specific to the age of the patient population served, providing quality care efficiently and safely in accordance with departmental standards. The intern demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy, and goals of the assigned unit and organization. The role requires flexibility when systems change and quality, effective work habits and clinical practices, while treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with consideration and respect.

This is an in-person PRN position in Galax, Virginia, with various shifts and an hourly rate of $18.00.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrollment in an RN or BSN program and in good standing.
• Successful completion of the first year of the RN or BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in preparing patients for diagnostic and therapeutic treatment.
• Complete proper reporting when an abnormal occurrence happens.
• Provide input to the RN to update care plans and meet individual patient needs.
• Observe patients and report changes in their condition to nursing staff.
• Provide daily patient care, including bathing, peri-care, personal care, and clothing changes, while adhering to departmental standards.
