Nursing Intern (Fall 2026) | Residential Behavioral Health
About The Position
Wedgwood Christian Services is seeking a Nursing Intern to support their Residential Nursing team serving youth aged 10-18 in mental and behavioral health stabilization programs. This internship offers hands-on clinical experience in a residential treatment setting, working alongside nurses, clinicians, and a multidisciplinary team. Interns will learn about medication management, assist with health assessments, and contribute to a safe, structured environment for youth with complex needs. This role is ideal for students pursuing a nursing career with an interest in pediatric or behavioral health.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Nursing program
- Strong interest in working with adolescents with mental health needs
- Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical clinical practice
- Ability to maintain consistent, reliable attendance and adhere to scheduled hours
- Alignment with Wedgwood’s Statement of Faith, vision, and values
Responsibilities
- Observe and assist with medication management processes
- Support health-related documentation, including assessments and observations
- Assist with triage of minor injuries under supervision
- Administer medications, including injections and vaccines, as permitted and supervised
- Learn and apply standing medical orders and clinical protocols
- Participate in a multidisciplinary team environment supporting youth care
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model
