About The Position

This is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position on the Wenatchee campus. The role involves teaching nursing theory, supervising students in skills labs and clinical experiences, contributing to program development and evaluation, and performing administrative duties such as holding office hours, advising students, and participating in committees. The college seeks faculty who are committed to assisting students, serving the community, and striving for excellence.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in nursing from an accredited program or a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and a master’s degree in a health or education related field from an accredited college or university (per WAC 246-840-526).
  • A current, unencumbered RN license in Washington state.
  • Evidence of current clinical skills in medical-surgical nursing.
  • Documented successful teaching experience.
  • Knowledge of and ability to comply with nursing education and practice WACs 246-800-500 through 246-800-830.
  • Demonstrates strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
  • Demonstrate current evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Demonstrate effectiveness as a nursing educator.
  • Have preparation in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development.
  • Ability to work with computers and technology to deliver or support instruction.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and perform tasks in a timely manner.
  • Possess the characteristics of a team player and a desire to learn.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Will exemplify excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, clinical partners and student body.
  • Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize many different tasks.
  • Acts with minimal direct supervision.
  • Required to be a self-starter and extremely dependable.
  • Demonstrated competency and experience working in a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, gender and racial/ethnic backgrounds and those with physical, emotional and/or learning disabilities.

  • Experience using computer applications for instruction and clinical documentation.
  • Post-secondary vocational or professional nursing certificates.
  • Experience with online and hybrid teaching modalities.
  • Experience in curriculum development.
  • Successful post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in a community college setting.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching nursing theory courses.
  • Supervising students in the skills practice lab.
  • Supervising students in clinical experiences in various healthcare settings.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of the nursing program curriculum.
  • Participating in the development and implementation of nursing program education policies.
  • Assessing student learning outcomes and evaluating the effectiveness of the nursing program.
  • Holding scheduled office hours to advise students and address their questions.
  • Participating in department, division, college, and task group meetings.
  • Advising students on degree and career paths.
