About The Position

The Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for overall leadership, direction, and operation of the long-term care facility. Ensures the delivery of quality resident care, compliance with all federal and state regulations, financial stewardship, employee engagement, and resident and family satisfaction. Provides strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the facility and is responsible for creating an environment that promotes resident-centered care, employee accountability, regulatory compliance, and organizational excellence.

Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout the facility and resident care areas.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to respond to family emergencies and operational needs as required.
  • Must successfully pass background checks and drug screen.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Long-Term Care Administration, Nursing, or related field.
  • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the state of North Dakota.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, business Administration, Public Health, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in rural healthcare preferred.
  • Experience with skilled nursing, assisted living, and post-acute care services.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee the daily operations of the long-term care facility.
  • Establish and maintain a culture focused on resident dignity, quality care, safety, and customer service.
  • Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategic goals and operational plans that align with organizational objectives.
  • Provide leadership and support to department managers and supervisors.
  • Maintain compliance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regulations, North Dakota Department of Health requirements, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Oversee survey preparation and coordinate responses to state and federal inspections.
  • Develop and implement plans of correction as necessary.
  • Ensure facility policies and procedures remain current and compliant.
  • Monitor quality measures, infection prevention initiatives, and performance improvement activities.
  • Develop, monitor and management annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Review census trends and implement initiatives to maximize occupancy.
  • Work collaborative with the Director of Nursing to ensure high-quality resident care and services.
  • Monitor resident satisfaction and implement improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure resident rights are protected and promoted throughout the organization.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with healthcare providers, referral sources, and community organizations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
