About The Position

The faculty member is responsible for delivery of instruction to students in the Associate's Degree Nursing Program. The position includes classroom teaching, clinical and lab supervision as well as student advisement, participation in department, divisional and college-wide activities, curriculum development, accreditation compliance activities, and professional development. The faculty member functions as a team member of a program area/department and a division. The faculty member will be dynamic, creative and committed to teaching excellence, and have a passion for continuous improvement and assessment of student learning. The faculty member shall perform all duties while promoting opportunities for inclusion, expressing the valuing of differences, and regularly demonstrating the college's commitment to the Guiding Principles. Teaching assignments may include alternative delivery settings which include synchronous video, online or asynchronous, evening, night and weekend offerings. Travel to a variety of clinical sites is required.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university or a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with evidence that an active plan is in place to complete a master's degree in nursing education within a negotiated timeframe.
  • Current Unencumbered Colorado R.N. license in good standing without restrictions.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Colorado Career and Technical Education Teaching Credential (must have 4000 hours of paid nursing experience in the last 5 years).
  • Two (2) years recent experience in professional clinical nursing practice.
  • Willingness to complete and maintain compliance with all clinical partner requirements (vaccinations, drug screens, CPR, training, etc.).
  • Must be willing and able to travel as required by position needs and hold a valid State of Colorado Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Teaching experience in a post- secondary professional nursing program.
  • Five (5) years of recent experience in professional nursing practice.
  • Demonstrated success in working with students from diverse backgrounds.
